Quality Sciences Expert Witness
Engineering conclusions are only as strong as the method behind them. As a Six Sigma Master Black Belt with graduate training in applied research and the quality sciences, I bring that same rigor to litigation, helping attorneys understand not just what the data shows, but how much confidence the data actually supports and where that confidence runs out.
Most published scientific research cannot be reproduced, a finding the National Academy of Scholars documented in 2018. The financial and legal consequences of research built on weak methods are real, whether the underlying question is a product failure pattern, a propagation model, or a claim about what a dataset proves. I bring formal training in variability, applied research, and the quality sciences to make sure the methods behind an engineering opinion are ones that actually hold up under scrutiny.
Where This Applies
Supporting Statistical Analysis
For failure analysis, propagation modeling, or any engineering question where a pattern needs to be validated rather than simply assumed to be real.
Evaluating an Opposing Expert's Methodology
Including whether a stated pattern in the opposing side’s analysis is statistically meaningful or, on closer inspection, coincidental.
Quality-Science Review
Of testing, measurement, or process-control claims made in a case, drawing on formal Six Sigma training rather than general familiarity with statistics.

Background
I hold a graduate degree in engineering management and a Six Sigma Master Black Belt from the University of Colorado, on top of my primary electrical and telecommunications engineering training. This practice area supports my other work more often than it stands alone as a case’s central issue, since most matters that need statistical rigor also involve an underlying electrical, telecommunications, or failure analysis question that the quality sciences help validate.
FAQs
Mostly the latter. Quality-science methods typically come into a case alongside an electrical, telecommunications, or failure analysis question, strengthening the reliability of the underlying engineering opinion rather than standing as the whole case.
It’s the highest-level credential in the quality sciences, focused on applied statistics, research methods, and statistical process control. My certification entailed seven graduate-level courses in applied statistics, research methods, and statistical process control. It’s a credential most engineering experts in litigation don’t hold.
